Merck announced it was ranked fourth among biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies worldwide by Science magazine, a leading peer-reviewed international scientific publication. This ranking marks the fourth year in a row Merck was named one of the top 20 employers in the healthcare and life science industry. The current ranking is the best ever for Merck, improving from its position of number 11 in 2016.
„Science and technology are at the center of everything we do. In global competition for talented employees and experts, this excellent finish in the Science ranking provides good orientation for potential candidates. As a well-known employer, Merck offers R&D staff an excellent environment for their work,” said Stefan Oschmann, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Merck.
The Science and Science Careers’ 2017 annual Top Employers Survey polled employees in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, and related industries to determine the 20 best employers in these industries as well as their driving characteristics. Respondents to the web-based survey were asked to rate companies based on 23 characteristics, including financial strength, easy adaptation to change, and a research-driven environment.
